The last flickers of light descend

casting a golden glow upon the earth

the winds blow the memories of today

preparing the earth for the morrow.

 

Trees sway from side to the other

saying goodbye to today or

perhaps shaking afraid of the dark

slowly the sun slithers behind the hills

enveloping the earth in a cruel darkness

the hills disappear

as the sun slumbers.
