Escaping Darkness

As I stare lying into the darkness,

I dream about the past,

I drift and wonder in abyss,

Theres no time that seems to last,

 

As if i'm running in a race,

Slowly giving up and losing pace,

Then a light eludes and uplifts me,

Guides me to a better me,

 

And I escape the darkness,

Evade the dangers of the crashing sea,

I become the man I want and need to be,

By the grace of God I become me.
