Only a few days ago it had started. Jamie had sent Riven a rosegram, delivered by one of the cupid Cypress in full outfit and everything. And that was the moment when Riven had declared war to her cheeseball. Jamie was ready... or so they thought. Because sooner rather than later the battle commenced.
"Koslarevic! Got a sec, mate?" he asked, flashing an apologetic small smile at Cy and Riven. Linus gave Riven a knowing look, hoping she would tell him to move it elsewhere if that is what she preferred. Surely the Ravenclaw knew what was coming.
Hearing Linus behind, Riven blinked then after a moment flashed a rather devilish little smirk, realizing very well what was coming. While her player was super wanting to apologize for the awkward teenage cringe hammer she'd unleashed upon the world, Riven the character suddenly seemed very VERY amused.
Jamie looked up, "Hm? Yeah sure what's up mate?" Though their eyes fall on his guitar.. then his look towards Riven and when they look to her they see her amusement. Raising a brow they turned fully to Linus now. "I get a feeling..." they say quietly and smile to Linus, curious.
Linus Delaney flashed a grin-grimace at Riven and Cy. He smiled then took a fourth note in hand and opened it. Linus cleared his throat and began to read.
“My dearest Jamie…” he said, reciting word for word what was written on the page. “Though we have been apart just a few scant hours, my heart aches for you by my side once again. It takes all my effort not to tear the universe itself asunder that we may once again be together. Yet I, too, cannot quite find the words to express my feelings so I'll allow the timeless poet Robert Smith say it for me…” The Slytherin smiled softly and picked up his guitar. He strummed a few very familiar bars then started to sing the first verse.

He stopped playing and added in spoken words “… elskan min. From, your Person.” Then he bowed his head to Jamie. "Uh, that ain't from me, mate.", he added to Jamie for unnecessary clarity before grinning at Riven.
Riven Redwhisper bit down hard on her lip and tried not to laugh as she nudged them toward Linus, "go on then, elskan min." Jamie /did/ start the rosegram war so she had to end it as spectacularly embarrassingly as she possibly could. When Linus began reading her letter, Riven seemed rather amused but she had to put a hand over her mouth to keep from laughing as the message continued on. Still, her face was growing a bit red as the rosegram continued on and the little glimmer in her eyes as she looked at Jamie betrayed the sincerity behind the message.
Jamie may have expected a lot but this... this was beyond and of that. Their face turned red hearing what Linus said and they turn their head to look to Riven, their face turning a deeper shade of read, even if their eyes shone like those stars in the mentioned universe. Being the cheeseball they were their heart grew all warm and fuzzy and maybe even another size. Their look towards her was full of adoration and a lot of 'Oh you cheeseball'. When the quote poet was mentioned they assumed something spoken so when the guitar found its way into this their head jumped around to stare at Linus. "What the.." they whisper almost not audible and the redness in their face went even darker and they had fiddled slightly with the roses in their hands. When Linus finished there was a stunned silence, them just staring at Linus, their jaw slightly dropped. Of course they did know that was not from Linus but it was still good to say that because their brain had decided to go on a vacation far away for the moment.
Almost as if trapped in slow motion they turn to look at Riven, still utterly speechless. For another long moment before they muttered "You... win." hey there were able to speak after all!
Riven grinned at Jamie and ran her fingers along their cheek and up through their hair as she replied with a dreamy little look in her eyes, "I did..." after a little pause she added, "months and months ago, in fact."
Jamie sighed when Riven brushed over their cheek but at her words they raised a hand and placed it on their heart "Odin. You already won, stop the battle."
