A forgotten king shouts unheard decrees

This photo was taken at Poetic Moon in the virtual world, Second Life. To me, this broken tree sitting atop a cliff, overlooking the sea looked like the ghost of a king wearing a crown, flailing his arms about as he barks orders at people, but the living can no longer hear his commands.

Anyway, the overcast environment at the homestead sets a tranquil, calming atmosphere and is owned by Anu Papp. It was built by Dandy Warhol (aka. Terry Fotherington) as a tribute to the poetry and philosophy of 13th Century Islamic thinker Jalāl al-Dīn Muḥammad Rūmī (typically simply referred to as Rumi). As such, Anu has asked those who share photos taken at Poetic Moon to also share quotes from Rumi.

Since the tree reminded me of a king, I thought this excerpt by Rumi might be appropriate:

"A soul which is not clothed with the inner garment of Love should be ashamed of its existence.

"Be drunk with Love, for Love is all that exists. Where is intimacy found if not in the give and take of Love?

"If they ask what Love is, say: the sacrifice of will. If you have not left your will behind, you have no will at all.

"The lover is a king of kings with both worlds beneath him; and a king does not regard what lies at his feet.

"Only Love and the lover can resurrect beyond time. Give your heart to this; the rest is secondhand."
