HOW TO STOP PSORIASIS FROM SPREADING

Patient 1 is a 42-year-old woman with a 3-year history of mild plaque psoriasis who had a guttate flare after streptococcal pharyngitis. She did not respond to treatment with narrowband ultraviolet B therapy and cyclosporine (4 mg/kg/d for 6 weeks). Skin examination found small erythematous papules and plaques with scale coalescing on her trunk, scalp, and extremities. Her BSA was 40% with an overall PGA of 2. The patient received ustekinumab, 45 mg, at weeks 0 and 4 and was noted to be completely clear at week 12.
