Books for Knowledge

Believe it or not, that was and still is a wise advice from the ancient Chinese.

 

FIRST THING FIRST, I have many books because I love to read or collect them. What I show you here or in the future are the books in my collection. In my younger days, I spent more than I should have on buying books I fancied. I COLLECT BOOKS. BUT, by no mean it means that I have read and study all of them in details nor I have that kind of memory to remember everything I have read. I put them in display here just in case certain book(s) that I have might interest you. Another thing is that I have limited rooms in my residence. Most of my books are in boxes stored everywhere in the garage. 90% of these pictures were taken years ago and some were taken months or years apart. What you see is what I have, if you want more information than what you see here, I probably can't provide you with more information on any of these books. I am glad that my disclaimer is said before all sorts of questions are coming on my way and I will have no good answers for any of them. Thanks.

I just want you all to know the reason I write in English. I want to introduce to anyone who lives outside of China and is REALLY interested in our traditional Chinese culture from the viewpoint of me who had spent my childhood growing up in the countryside of Canton, China. Thus, I am a real half and half who is bathed in the old tradition of the old China and the new digital world of the U.S.

 

As you can see, I am not that proficient in either Chinese or in English. Then, you might want to know why I bother to write for the public at all? The reason is very simple. Since the 1970's, I noticed there is not a single book that I saw in any major bookstores of which I have visited that give the English readers the correct information about how our 8 Word Astrology actually works. So, starting in the old McIntosh days, I tried to write some materials related to our 8 Word Astrology. I am certain that almost everyone can tell you that a guy (me) who had only service jobs had to struggle pretty hard in supporting 5 children and a sometimes-working wife. My wife has great patience and is not a demanding wife or mother neither. She favors the freedom of learning by the kids' natural inclinations. She had done a great job of bring our kids up while I worked on my jobs. The kids earned their seats in high-ranking colleges here in the U.S. and most of them are doing very well in their fields of study.

 

Am I bragging? Not at all. I just want you to know all our kids' charts are pretty much different from each other. Their charts are just an affirmation of the working capabilities of our 8 Word Astrology. If you are really interested in people, you may find the 8 Word Astrology can be one of the exceptional life skills you could have.

 

Now, I am retired. I have more time to work on my astrological projects but still not in a pace I wish I had. Well, that is reality. When you see mistakes or disconnected thoughts in my writing, most likely I will correct them or replace them in some later days. Thanks for your understanding on this regard.

 

In our long Chinese history, we respect and admire any official who has us the ordinary folks' welfare in his heart at all the time. In fact, we call our officials, at any level, the "official parents of the people". In the few books displayed here, you can read many nice stories about some of the good and bad public officials/and other great people in our Chinese history.

 

History is the best judge for us ALL. And, as history tells us, not all officials were good to the ordinary people. If you are one of the officials (anywhere in the world) who can do something good for the people you serve, may you be a good official to your people at all levels.
