Alexei Navalny, jailed Russian Opposition Leader. That’s how Putin manages “opposition”, Alexei wasn’t meant to survive a nerve agent on his life courtesy of “Putin"

21 October 2021: Imprisoned Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny was awarded the European Union’s top human rights prize, in a clear slap at President Vladimir Putin

On 20 August 2020, Russian opposition figure and anti-corruption activist Alexei Navalny was poisoned with a Novichok nerve agent and was hospitalized in serious condition. During a flight from Tomsk to Moscow, he became violently ill and was taken to a hospital in Omsk after an emergency landing there, and put in a coma. He was evacuated to the Charité hospital in Berlin, Germany, two days later. The use of the nerve agent was confirmed by five Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) certified laboratories.

You don’t voice opposition to Putin’s regime if you cherish your freedom and your life

Vladimir Putin is a man of many faces: macho patriot, rightwing populist, cynical manipulator, and ruthless global warlord. All are inimical to the best interests of the Russian people. All are fundamentally hostile to western principles of freedom and democracy.

Putin’s is the face of the enemy. Henceforth he must be recognised as such.{theguardian.com}
