Center of a Rock Rose
A macro capture looking directly into the flower. This was a table top shot with lights behind and above. (not flash) I used little LED bedside lights. The colour temperature set to auto on a Nikon does not seem to need much adjustment. I now have colour temperature adjustable photo LED light but they are not strictly necessary as the latest cameras seem to cope.
I always shoot in RAW so the colour temperature is easily adjusted during processing.
Viewers are often unfamiliar with such a detail view and see this type of image as semi abstract.
I used a macro lens, 105mm set to f16, exposure 1/8th sec with the camera on a tripod.
By using a macro lens the whole frame was filled. Some general zoom lenses can focus close enough to half fill the frame enabling a crop for the final result.
