Goodwin Alco 48
My favourite semaphore.
This mighty semaphores still stands. Though its working life is over, it has retired at stop, reminding us of its safe working role and the glory days of the NSWGR.
Quite and disused. the signal stands in the Riverina. It no longer witnesses its great companions the 48s, the 600 rail motors, the 44s and a 421 which graced its presence momentarily as staff working dictated on their from the original and then final terminus of this branch opened in 1882. And if sentinal it could probably recall the 34s, occasional 32s and standard goods locomotives that past rail that have staid in situ since opening of the line.
