In the final image, I am sitting down reading a book. I chose to place myself in this manner because anything else felt too out of place. I personally don't like adventure or grand places, but rather find comfort in familiar places. So placing myself somewhere else would seem a little out of place. The images I chose represent me because I always like a good story, and will settle for nothing less. Both of the papers show a segment of what could be the journey for a hero. The ones I was aiming for were a dark spooky trial and apotheosis. I was heavily reliant on one compositional technique, and then used a few others to complement it. These were framing (with the papers), leading lines(with the gradient leading to the castlesque looking structure), and rule of thirds. The handwriting I chose said "New worlds may lay in wait--Even in the most unexpected of places." This is meaningful to me because I never really know where to find a good story, and the most recent good story I've found was the notes of J.R.R Tolkien, which I never would have thought contained such a great story.
