Green at Eagle Falls
BNSF 3009 leads a short local down the 1% grade at Eagle Falls near Baring, WA. This train was called as an extra out of Delta Yard to switch customers in Monroe and then head up Stevens Pass to Skykomish to grab a bad ordered coal car. To my friends and I surprise, BNSF 3009, a rare BN whiteface GP40E, was in consist. Lining up perfectly with a planned weekend on Stevens Pass, we were able to shoot the 3009 returning from Skykomish, providing us with a very rare opportunity.
