Sagging Relic
Once the heart of the farm and the vital nerve center of the whole operation, this old barn has seen better days. Many of these were built in the early 1900’s or before. Used primarily to house the horses or mules and to store the hay necessary to feed them over the winter. Newer metal clad pole structures known as machine sheds have pretty much replaced them. Modern grain farming has no need for barns, so these grand old relics bask in the sun awaiting their fate and adding much charm to the rural landscape. Be sure to look inside. There may be an old car or rusty pickup parked in there awaiting its fate too.
