"Reed Nightingale"

Sigma 500mm 5.6 DG DN OS Sports

This Bluethroat is the southern race L. s. cyanecula, which is called Red-spotted Bluethroat, it breeds in reed forests. The northern race L. s. svecica which is called Red-spotted Bluethroat, which some in Norway popular call "The Nigtingale of the Mountain", so I think the southern race could be called "Reed Nightingale". This one was not shy and it was singing most of the time, some times it flew up while it was still singing. The song of the Bluthroat is much more beautiful then the Nightingale ! You can see that this Bluethroat is relaxed, puffed out feathers, not slim looking and sitting on one leg. The photo is slightly cropped. I see too many bird photographers that do not compose their photos proper, do not have the bird in the center, move the focuspoint slightly up and to either the right or the left side, the bird must look "into" the photo.
