Magenta Reign
Another image from the spectacular solar storm last week. Nearing daybreak the entire sky was overtaken by a soul shaking hue of vibrant magenta. Magenta in Aurora is a rare phenomenon, the result of a high altitude mix of oxygen atoms emitting red and nitrogen emitting blue as they interact with the solar particles comparing the atmosphere. The Missabe 408 rests patiently awaiting the repair of a broken rail a dozen miles to the south.
