Change comes to the WC

WC 4508, a gp9r that traces its lineage all the way back to the MStL gingerly drags a set of ballast hoppers over the recently recently disturbed roadbed prior to tamping. Decades of dirt and debris has been cleaned out and is laying adjacent to the main in preparation for the inauguration of Metra’s North Central Service in August of 1996. This train rocked and rolled to a severe degree, scraping the plow and pilot on the railhead as it tip toed along. In another 20 years I’d be hogging trains for CN along this same line where I grew up. Funny how things work...
