Sacrifice
One of you will betray me
It is time for the lamb to die
Sometimes a greater sacrifice is needed
Which is bigger than you or I
Because this love will split the heavens
There will be no hiding from any lies
From here you will have your choices
But don’t ever forget how much I tried

So this is the first work for Easter in a Mini-Series that I have put together and for this one I was imagining Christ at the Last Supper with his disciples in my mind. I was thinking about the fact that he knew one of his friends was going to betray him, yet he still forgave him.
The Easter story is still relevant for today, as we consider the innocence of the lambs in our fields, whose life is sometimes so brief.
No matter how long or short our lives are on this earth, we can make a difference. Even if we are just a babe in arms when we have to leave, we make a difference to those around us, we are never forgotten.
But can we forgive our betrayers? Could we sit down and have a Last Supper with them? Christ knew that evil can drive a person to do things he would otherwise not. But we are not Christ, we are merely human, but perhaps we can strive to make this world a better place for our lambs to grow up in.
When evil grows tired of waging war, perhaps we might remember this, that the innocent deserve a chance to live.

This shot was from a series of images I took last year on the Sussex Downs in the UK, near where I live. I had another look at these images in my archive…and this work came to my mind for Easter. So I will leave this here for you to reflect upon, perhaps listening to Peter Gabriel’s music track “The Feeling Begins” from his remarkable album, “The Temptation of Christ”, see the link below.

Over the next three days, I will add the others in the series for this Easter. Meanwhile, blessings to you all, and my love as always to my followers and friends.
And if you would like to see more of my work have a look at my website at:
UPDATE 18th April, 2025....EXPLORED..
Hal the Algorithm has been busy again, and it looks as though he likes my 'sheep shots'. [And desks !!] There is a very dark humour in that which I find really rather delicious. But thank you to everyone who has taken the time to fave, view and comment on this image, even more if you have read my prose to go with it. Much appreciated. Meanwhile, I will be loading another in the Easter Series up tonight for Saturday. That strange in-between time before the joy of Easter Day.
After Easter Day, I will be catching up with you all, so until then, all my love for Easter to you all. Shell x
