Enrapture
The light rises
Over the city of the dead
This beautiful morning
There is such joy ahead
For one breathtaking moment
I saw what was always unsaid
That I would see you
Instead of just being in my head
Time has no meaning
And rules have become unbent
I can see you so clearly
As if it was always meant
The trick is believing
Understanding your grieving
That love is inherent
To our comprehending
That our sisters and brothers
Our friends and family
And all our lovers
In this life and the next
Are connected together
The silver threads reaching
Binding and joining
Tying us together
Always and forever
Never split asunder
From each other

Thank you to all those who have responded so kindly to my Easter Series works so far, you give me great joy. I have another for Easter Monday…and possibly a bonus if I can get it together. After that I shall be getting back to you and looking at all your beautiful work.
All my heartfelt warm wishes for this Easter Day to all my Followers and those who have viewed, commented and faved. May you always find peace in your soul.
For Easter Day 2023 in my series for this year I have written this work. I spent some time in Ocklynge Cemetery in Eastbourne, East Sussex, UK, in February this year and was overwhelmed by its beauty. It is calling me back already.
I have paired this work with U2’s ‘Song For Someone’ because even if you have no faith, you can easily practise the religion of simple compassion. The voices of the dead call for us to remember to be kind to each other.
And if you would like to see more of my work have a look at my website at:
