I Stand
I stand
Waiting out the ages
Of man
Wood, bone and stone
Bronze, copper and iron
All I have seen
Waiting out the ages
Of metals and chemicals
Machines faster than a thought
All I have seen
Waiting out the ages
Of man
I stand
Waiting out the ages
Of spirits and lights
Fire and ice
All I have seen
Waiting out the ages
The horizon changes
And I wait no more
This image and poem [as it does here on Flickr in the Album ‘The Christ Tree And Friends’] is featured on a new page on my website, along with the recent Christ Tree Poems that I placed up on Flickr for Easter. They are a particular favourite of mine, and I always wanted to feature them on my website, as they are meant to be seen, image and text working together. Along with The Christ Tree Poems there will appear other characters, such as this work, ‘I Stand’. This is the same ‘character’ that appears in the work ‘Event Horizon’ which you can find in my gallery and the Album ‘The Christ Tree And Friends’ here on Flickr. I am intending to add to these works with new pieces featuring The Christ Tree, as he has much more to say.
You can also find these works on the new page ‘Heaven On Earth’ in the drop down menu on the Home Page under the main heading ‘Another Time’ on my website.
This image was taken at Wilmington, East Sussex, UK. And if you would like to see more of my work please find me here:
