I keep coming back to the Hope Valley. I have visited a number of times over the years (mostly for motorcycle riding) but I think it will still take a while for me to get bored here.
The shots of Winnats Pass I uploaded recently were taken about 2km away (as the crow flies). My original intention for this location was of course to get the sunrise lighting up Back Tor and Lose Hill (see other recent uploads) but as the sun climbed further it started illuminating the trees in the valley and I just loved the way it looked.
From the vantage point I'd chosen the sun was barely out of frame, and as such I think it reduced the contrast somewhat, even with the lens hood extended. When I revisit this location I'll try a similar shot but from Lose Hill, as the angle to the sun won't be quite so acute.
