Multi-faceted ceremony on the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence in Jabalpur on 18th September

There will be musical presentation of the saga of sacrifice of tribal heroes

Other fighters will also be remembered

On September 18, a multi-faceted function is being organized in Jabalpur on the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence. Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah is specially coming for this programme. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan reviewed the preparations for the function in a meeting held at Mantralaya on Thursday. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that under the 75th Amrit Mahotsav of Independence, arrangements should be made to conduct this pride ceremony of tribal heroes systematically with full dignity. In this ceremony in Jabalpur, the sacrifices of tribal Jannayak Shankar Shah and Raghunath Shah will be remembered. Preparations are being made for a lyrical-musical presentation of the saga of his sacrifice.

 

Wreaths will also be laid on the statues of Shaheed Shankar Shah and Raghunath Shah by the Union Home Minister and other guests at the function. The programme will also feature the presentation of patriotic poems of eminent poetess late Subhadra Kumari Chauhan. In this pride celebration of tribal heroes in the 75th Amrit Mahotsav of Independence, activities of exhibition, book launch, film screening and release of e-album will also take place. The Union Home Minister will visit the exhibition focused on the freedom movement. Through the exhibition of pictures of various known and unknown freedom fighters, their indelible contribution to the nation will be remembered. In the ceremony, the poetic creation of Amar Shaheed Raja Shankarshah and Raghunath Shah by the British officials as a crime, the context of killing both of them by tying them to the mouth of cannon will be presented through poetry. This will be a performance by folk artists. Film screening focusing on Amar Shaheed Raja Shankar Shah and Raghunath Shah, launch of book 'Jange-e-Azadi Mein Jabalpur', e-album focusing on freedom fighters, Jannayaks and fighters will also be done in the function. Principal Secretary Culture, Public Relations and Tourism Shri Sheo Shekhar Shukla and Principal Secretary Tribal Affairs Department, Pallavi Jain Govil gave detailed information about the preparations being made related to the function.

Arrangements will be made to accommodate the invited guests and participants with social distancing in the programme being held at Garrison Ground in Jabalpur. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan has directed the Jabalpur district administration to make necessary arrangements in this regard. Tribal community heads are also being invited to the programme. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan also directed to ensure the participation of the member sisters of self-help groups and necessary arrangements related to it. Cooperative Minister Shri Arvind Singh Bhadauria, Tourism, Culture, Spiritual Minister Sushri Usha Thakur, Tribal Affairs Minister Sushri Meena Singh, Chief Secretary Shri Iqbal Singh Bains and other officers were present in the meeting.
