One of my life's goals as a hairstylist is to get my clients to step away from the big and bouncy blow-dry. It is nasty on so many levels.

Of course it's damaging to the hair and impossible for the client to replicate after the first shampoo but my gripe with it is not just that. I'm against what it stands for.

 

The unreal, round brush finished look is once again telling you that your natural texture is not good enough. Your beautiful imperfections need fixing and I have a huge problem with that.

 

Like you, I'm also constantly trying to teach myself to be gentle on me and I want all my heads too to love more and pick less especially when it comes to their own hair.

 

All you need is a good haircut and nothing after that. Remember your stylist must spend 90 per cent of the service time in cutting and consultation and only the remaining 10 or lesser on styling. If it's cut well, it will fall in place. Everyday and not just on the day of the cut.
