How to Receive Price Drop Notifications on Google Android

While Chrome desktop users have long had the option of installing third-party extensions that track prices and assist them in finding the best deals, those add-ons do not work on Android. Fortunately, Google is now rolling out the new function in Chrome mobile that monitors for price drops on shopping tabs that are open in the background.

The new Android price tracking feature is included in the Chrome 90 update, which is now available from the Google Play Store. Once Chrome is updated, the following steps can be taken to enable price tracking:

In the Chrome app, navigate to a page that contains an item you wish to track the price of.

To open the tab selection grid, click the open tabs icon to the right of the URL bar.

At the top-right corner of the screen, click the three-dot menu button.

Switch on the option "Track prices" in the next menu. Additionally, you can tap "Get notified" if the option appears at the bottom of the screen.

Chrome sends push notifications whenever it detects a change in prices on any of your open tabs when Track Prices is enabled. Keep these tabs open in the background to ensure that the feature works.

If you are still unable to see the Track Prices option after updating Chrome, the functionality has not yet been rolled out to you.
