EPQ artefact
This arefact was the final outcome produced for my EPQ project. It represents women's struggles and insecurities by turning imperfections into beauty. This is conveyed in the 'kintsugi' style cracks in the women's skin, showing that the imperfections/scars reveal a story and these help us to grow as a person: instead of viewing these in disgust, they should be seen as a sign of intrigue or charm. The colours are vibrant to express the radiance of youth young women have.
I have always been exposed to clay work since I was young as my nan works a lot with clay, it is something I wanted to seriously try and use for my extened personal project to give me an oppotunity to use clay in a less trivial way.
