First Light - Not! a Project - under challenging conditions - Caldwell 31 - Sh2-229 - VdB 34 - Sh2-236 - Flaming Star Nebula

The first light of my mono setup is finally complete after a long wait due to equipment setup and poor weather conditions. On January 21, 2025, despite less-than-ideal conditions with fog, frost, and high humidity, I focused on testing the full LRGB workflow to prepare for future mono projects.During processing, I encountered a significant issue: a “nebula-like structure” in the green channel, likely caused by a frozen dew film on the filter, making the data unusable for the nebula. However, I salvaged the project by processing the stars in RGB and creating an LRBB image, successfully minimizing the impact of the green channel problem.
