Merry Christmas!

On the afternoon of Monday, December 23rd, 2024, Long Island Railroad train 660 from Penn Station to Port Jefferson makes a brief stop on Track 4 at Jamaica Station before continuing east. The leading engine, LI506, as well as the trailing engine, LI502, are the two DM30ACs decorated with holiday themed stickers. Like many other railroads, the Long Island Railroad decided to run a revenue “holiday train,” this year with 2 decorated locomotives “sandwiching” 8 decorated C3s. The drumheads used on the locomotives haven’t seen the road since 2019, the last time the Long Island Railroad ran a holiday train of any sort. The set first entered revenue service on Monday, December 16th, 2024 and has been running almost every day since.
