OPERATION 3: Fleeing | Dark Times RPG
STORY: Racing down the steps and crashing through the exit, Pyer found himself in the battle damaged lower levels. Corpses were strewn across the ground in huge divots. Starfighters soared overhead bombing tight clusters of buildings. The sound of constant blaster fire was deafening. The city was being sacked.
Fearing he'd be seen, Pyer raced over to a deserted alley to plan his next move. He had arrived here on a transport, he knew for a fact he wouldn't leave on one. He would need to steal a ship. Pyer took out his holomap and saw there was a small hangar not far from where he was now. He would go there, stay out of sight, and leave in something fast, something well armed wouldn't hurt too. Pyer put away the holomap and ran.
After a short time, he heard voices through an archway. "Yes sir. We're sweeping the area as we speak. Should we find any insurgents they'll be dealt with." The sound of a flurry of blaster bolts was followed by an explosion. Creeping to the door, he discovered a squad of clones illuminated by the fire light of their destruction. Pyer looked down at his holomap. There was a dead end ahead, through here was the only way to the hangar. Pyer slung the pouch of credits over his shoulder, checked to see if his blaster was loaded, and stepped through the arch. The first clone didn't even see him. Pyer sent 2 shots right at the trooper's chest, killing him instantly. The next clone raised his blaster to fire but Pyer was quicker, sending a blast right at his helmet. The other two began firing, so Pyer dove behind a pile of crates for cover. Taking out a thermal detonator, he armed it with its distinct beeping and threw it behind him. Pyer felt a wave of heat as the detonator went off, and stood up from his cover. He could see the entrance to the hangar from here, so yet again, he ran. Finding an old Mankvim-814 interceptor front the clone wars, he jumped in, and took off.
He was safe, for now.
