The building that was miraculously found-the Royal Museum of Fine Arts in Antwerp
Driving quickly past it, my gaze caught the sculpture at the top of the building. I saw horses in the sky and froze in admiration. It was a very short moment, like a flash, a little bit later I even had some doubts about what else I had managed to catch with my eyes, but I definitely really wanted to return to this building and look at everything carefully. Not knowing its name, address/location, or proper description to ask people how to find/ to get to it and being in a completely different part of the city, we decided to look for it, and only following my intuition and thanks to my good memory for details, we finally found it! My joy knew no bounds, the museum building and the area around it are magnificent!
The majestic building was designed by Jacob Winders and Frans van Dijk , built beginning in 1884, opened in 1890, and completed in 1894. Sculpture on the building includes two bronze figures of Fame with horse-drawn chariots by sculptor Thomas Vincotte.
