Madonna and Child - 1952.110_full
Madonna and Child is, in my opinion a creepy looking painting created out of tempera and gold on poplar panel. It was created in Sienna, Italy, by Lippo Memmi in 1350. It was created as a celebration of victory in the battle of Montaperti in 1260. When framed it is 71.3 x 43.8 x 5.7 cm in size. However, when unframed it is 71.3 x 44 cm in size. It was given to the Cleveland Museum of Art as a gift of the Hanna Fund 1952.110, where it can now be found in gallery 110A Italian Gothic. This image is in the public domain.
