Red-Figure Fish Plate: Octopi, Mullet, Bream, Shellfish 1985.50

This southern Italy and Paestan plate is black with orange images of sea creatures, like fish and octopus. According to the museum, this plate was originally made in Athens. However, plates like this became increasingly popular in south Italy and Sicily. This plate was made between 360 and 320 BC.
