Alone - Palouse Hills, Steptoe Butte, Colfax WA
PRESS L must be viewed larger on black
I just returned from a trip to the Pacific Northwest with buds David and Alan. We spent a few days chasing light and shadows as we explored the Palouse Hills at Steptoe Butte.
On this particular day, the greens and rich browns really stood out. The side light was awesome as it lit the right side of the tree. This scene is all about shadow and light play and it pretty much looked different every time I photographed it.
This place had an amazing 360 degree view of luscious colored hills. Most of the time, I was shooting between 400mm-560mm range; however, on one occasion, the 24-105L came out for a cameo and captured a panorama of some amazing thunderstorms (I'll post soon). If you haven't been to this place, I highly recommend it. It was a pleasure meeting some new flickr photogs Bala and Protik on this trip.
A huge thanks to Ryan for saving us from getting attacked by a tick and showing us a few spots.
May the light be with you. Thanks for your constant support and visits. Jave
