The tree
I feel like the tree:
from the earthmy being sprouted
and through the earth I breathed;
I ask the earth for enjoyment and food,
she the past and the present encloses.
But to the ray of light that from the height
gives me life and happiness,
and for which another life I have conceived,
life and fortune without ceasing I ask.
