Darth Maul
The hardest part of this Darth Maul makeup was the symmetry. After the initial application and blending of the bald cap, I sketched the outline of the areas to be painted black with a cream coloured pencil, also leaving gaps for the horns.
I made the horns myself by using a product called polymorph, a plastic material that originally comes in the form of small crystals which you can melt down and form into any shape. After the basic shape had been created, I carved lines into the horns to create ridges before the material had completely dried. I then painted them using alcohol activated paints. These were applied to the bald cap using spirit gum, and the rest of the face was painted after.
