The 2,042-meter-high peak of the Rochers de Naye mountain in Switzerland has been accessible by an 800mm-gauge rack railway from the town of Montreux in the valley since the early 1900s. The line currently has five Bhe 4/8 two-part railcars in service, of which 301, 302 and 303 have been carrying passengers since 1983, 304 since 1992, and 305 since 2010. However, the small railcars only have a few years left in public service, with the 8 new low-floor railcars ordered this year expected to enter service in 2029.
In the photo, railcar 301 is leaving Glion station towards Montreux. Glion was the lower terminus of the line for nearly 20 years after the opening of the upper section, from where the only way to get down to the valley was by cable car, which is still in operation today. After the opening of the Montreux extension, locomotive changes still had to be carried out here for a long time, the upper section was only electrified years after the lower section.

A svájci Rochers de Naye hegytető 2042 méter magas csúcsára az 1900-as évek eleje óta egy 800mm-es nyomtávú fogaskerekű vasútvonalon lehet feljutni a völgyben fekvő Montreux városából. A vonalon jelenleg még 5 darab Bhe 4/8-as kétrészes motorvonat teljesít szolgálatot, melyek közül a 301-es, a 302-es és a 303-as 1983, a 304-es 1992 óta szállítja az utasokat, 2010-ben kiegészülve a 305-össel. A kis motorkocsiknak azonban már csak pár évük maradt a közforgalomban, várhatóan 2029-ben forgalomba áll az idén megrendelt 8 új, alacsonypadlós motorvonat.
A fotón a 301-es motorkocsi halad ki Glion állomásról Montreux felé. Glion a felső szakasz megnyitásától közel 20 évig volt a vonal alsó végállomása, ahonnan a máig üzemelő drótköteles siklóval lehetett csak lejutni a völgybe. A Montreux-i hosszabbítás megnyitását követően még sokáig mozdonycserét kellett itt végrehajtani, a felső szakaszt csak évekkel az alsó szakasz után villamosították.
