"Prayer Niche (Mihrab)" is a 1500s or mid-1900s Iranian piece that was constructed in the style of the Safavid period (1501–1722). It is a ceramic mosaic that is the epicenter in Islamic mosques. The Mihrab stands at 290.7 cm x 245.3 cm and the Frieze stands at 69.2 cm x 1563.5 cm. "Prayer Niche (Mihrab)" was obtained by the Cleveland Museum of Art as a gift of Katharine Holden Thayer in 1962 and it was the 23rd piece. This piece is on display at the Cleveland Museum of Art in section 116 of Islamic Art.
