Nottingham Victoria South Train Register Book extract - Monday 4 January 1965

Used with kind permission of John Saxton.

On the Up we see bell code 1-3-1 for 3V05 (15:30 Hull - Plymouth fish) passing non-stop at 6.42pm (NG Vic Sth not yet using 24 hr clock).

Then bell code 1-3-1 for 3V11 (16:30 Grimsby - Whitland fish), by this date no longer hauled by an Immingham "Britannia" but steam replacing an EE Type 3 at Annesley Yard, probably a 9F. Passes non-stop at 8.26pm.

Finally, bell code 1-3-1 for 3M02 for Banbury (the 18:05 fish from Hull and the 18:25 fish from Grimsby which combined at Mansfield Concentration Sidings). This train stopped at Nottingham and dropped off some vans, arriving at 9.57pm and departing at 10.16pm.

By February 1965 all fish traffic on the GC main line had ceased.
