Page 21 - BR WR London 9 Sep 1963 to 14 Jun 1964_p A228

This WTT covers the same area as the previous one except it covers the next time period, 9 September 1963 to 14 June 1964 (or until further notice). Possibly that last phrase (ufn) was a foretelling of things to come?

The Britannias didn't survive on 3V11 into 1964. By December 1963 they had all been transferred away from Immingham, all but one to Carlisle (Upperby). 3V11 became diesel hauled and no longer travelled through Clipstone and Mansfield. An EE Type 3 (later Class 37) diesel took the train using the route of the 3V11 predecessor (the 1.05pm from New Clee) through Gainsborough, Retford and Worksop before joining the GC main line at Killamarsh Junction via the Waleswood Curve. I've not yet found a reason why that route change was made. At Annesley North Junction the train didn't carry on the main line. Instead it went into Annesley yard where the diesel was replaced with steam. Chris Ward records that on Tuesday 31 March 1964 Annesley's 9F no. 92071 took charge. On Monday 6 April 1964 it was Annesley's 92087 turn.

3V11 was certainly still running at the beginning of 1965 as I've seen an entry in the Nottingham Victoria South Signal Box Train Register for Monday 4 January 1965.

However, the writing was on the wall and all fish traffic on the ex GCR London Extension was withdrawn by the beginning of February 1965.
