61883 at Doncaster
Up fish train entering Doncaster.
The caption for this photo reads:
"View northward, towards York etc. on the ECML, also at Marshgate Junction to Leeds and Bradford to the left, Hull and Grimsby to the right. The Class C train coming from under the Frenchgate Bridge (A1) is probably from Grimsby or Hull, headed by Gresley K3/3 No. 61883, built 10/29 as No. 1391 (No. 1883 from 1946) and withdrawn 12/62.

61883 was allocated to Hull Dairycoates (50B) shed so it is most probably a fish train which originated from Hull. The 2nd train from Hull to Banbury arrived at Doncaster about 8.00 pm and, in August, the sun would have set about half an hour later. So, in theory, it could be either train. I think, though, it's more likely to be the 1st train which arrived at Doncaster (in 1958) at 2.20 pm
