Annesley No 4_p44 Up and Down

V2 no. 60815 was withdrawn from Leicester Central (15E) w/e 5th May 1962. On Thursday 23rd August 1962 the V2 is noted at Annesley No. 4, arriving at about midday as part of a 1-4 bell code freight train, hauled by Annesley's 2-8-0 Class 01 no. 63817. (Recorded at the top of this page 44 Down). On page 45 Down it departs the same day at 9.36 pm, again as a 1-4 train but this time being hauled by Stanier Black 5 4-6-0 no. 45429, allocated to Crewe North (5A). The V2 is noted as "Dead" and I believe the remarks column shows Masboro (Rotherham). 60815's journey ended at Darlington Loco Works where she was in for cutting up on Friday 7th September 1962.

A photo of 60815 at Leicester Central shed awaiting the final journey can be seen on railphotoprints via this link. railphotoprints.uk/p279219/ec528c299

I have extracted the shed allocations from the online BRDatabase.
