Skyphos 1989.149_web

The ceramic Skyphos is from Turkey, Rome, 1st Century made with a earthenware with slip decoration medium and dimensions of 8.4 x 16.3 x 10.9 cm (3 5/16 x 6 7/16 x 4 5/16 in.). This piece gets its unique yellowish-green color from a lead glaze which was a popular technique used. Thanks to the John L. Severance Fund 1989.149 Skyphos is currently on display at The Cleveland Museum of Art and can be found at 103 Roman. This image is in the public domain.
