Order 66 on Toola
Toola, Outer Rim territories
//Entry log: Commander Torrent\\
After weeks of terrible weather and fierce opposition from the ‘seps’ our platoon was quickly becoming behind schedule with our rendezvous with general Kai Hudorra, on the other side of the capital city. After setting up camp just outside a supposedly occupied village myself and Jedi general Silas Mollek continued on ahead with the aim of establishing a preemptive perimeter. Along with some of my best men, we trudged onwards through the already melting snow with the distant echoes of aerial bombardments, why we couldn’t request one for our campaign was beyond me although general Silas had previously said something about civilians, an unfortunate side effect in my eyes but a crucial one nonetheless if we were to put a swift end to this war. The half collapsed buildings around us channeling the winter gales through narrow passages generated an almost eerie whistling, although admittedly more comforting than the deathly silence following battles.
Progressing deeper into the heart of the village we saw no signs of life, only deserted houses and belongings. Spices and other abandoned goods littered the pathway as if the streets had been deserted on a moment's notice. A relic of a much simpler time where streets were populated with peaceful villagers going about their daily activities, not that we clones have an understanding of what life was like before the war. Now only the faint trudging and subdued rattle of our blasters could be heard, reassuring sounds that we clones are all too familiar with. We are bred to fight and serve, not to question, but the naivety and blissful ignorance has all but gone. So many of my fellow soldiers, my fellow brothers are dead. I stopped counting after our second station on Drongar. So many just… gone...
General Silas is a formidable warrior but his tactics are notorious for needless sacrifices to his men. You’d think that as someone taught to conserve and protect life he would be more cautious. Jedi are too weak to win this war alone. They have needlessly killed millions of my brothers in wasted battles and through ill thought out orders. This war would have been over years ago if men bred for actual battle had taken command, but again I wonder. My only role is to loyally serve the Republic and follow orders. This is why I felt no remorse following the infamous order 66. It was like a weight off my shoulders, a step forward in my progression as a leader of my men, freeing my fellow brothers from the tyranny and corruption of the Jedi in the hopes of a more safer and secure future. For us and the galaxy.
This is my entry into the Dark Times group and I (hopefully) look forward to building more star wars style scenes in the future :)
