Medicine Master Buddha (Yakushi Nyorai) 1973.85_full

The Medicine Master Buddha was created around the year 1000 ACE during Japan's Heian period. It is crafted using

Gilded wood and depicts a seated Buddha with what appears to be a halo behind his head. The Buddha is seated

on a chair that resembles a flower and is painted with a shimmering gold color. Like many other portrayals of Buddha

we see his hand raised outward and his eyes closed to depict an image of meditation.
