Ram Mask (Bolo) 2016.56_web

This piece of work comes from Western Sudan, Burkina Faso, created by the Bobo people with wood and paint.

The piece appears to be made from a single piece of wood and carved to resemble the had of a Ram.

Although symmetry may have been an attempted element of this piece it can be noted that for almost all details

implemented in this mask design's right half a slightly raised when compared to their left-half counterparts.
