Seated Amitabha was created in Korea during the 1300’s. It was made out of Wood with lacquer and gildinga, and it dimensions are 33 x 21 x 19.8 cm (13 x 8 1/4 x 7 13/16 in.). The Seated Amitabha looks as if it is meditating peacefully. According to the museum the Buddha is represented as a monk with shaven head and dressed in simple monastic robes. This artwork was a gift to the Cleveland Museum of Art in memory of Godfrey St. G. M. Gompertz (1904-1992) and is currently not on view.
