Icon of the Virgin and Child is a polychrome slit-and dovetailed-tapestry weave made of wool fiber created during the Byzantine period in 6th century Egypt. Its height is a sizable 178.7 cm (70 3/8 in.), and its width is 110.5 cm (43 ½ in.). The virgin and her child were donated to the Leonard C. Hanna, Jr. Fund to the Cleveland Museum of Art and can be encountered in the Migration Period & Coptic exhibit. This piece can be accessed with the number 1967.144.
