Ifá divination vessel (àgéré Ifá) is a ritual object, according to the museum, depicting a mother figure and a child, carved from wood and colored in the mid-late 1800’s by a Yorùbá carver in Nigeria, Africa. It has a height of 31.7 cm (12 ½ in.) and a width of 15.7 cm (6 3/16 in.). This vessel was donated by the Leonard C. Hanna, Jr. Fund to the Cleveland Museum of Art and is not on view.
