Tritoness Relief Applique 1985.184_web

"Tritoness Relief Applique" made of bronze with subtle copper inlays, this piece once adorned a relief. Dated to the late 2nd Century BC. Greece, this appliqué is a beautiful example of Hellenistic period sculpture and casting and can be seen in the Greek gallery in case 102C. Overall this metalwork stands 22.4 x 24.5 x 7.8 cm (8 13/16 x 9 5/8 x 3 1/16 in.) and was purchased by The Cleveland Museum of Art courtesy of the Leonard C.
