Pair of Stained Glass Panels with Male and Female Donor - 1919.1_print
"Pair of Stained Glass Panels with Male and Female Donor," on view at The Cleveland Museum of Art in Gallery 110B, is a vibrant jewel-toned colored set of what would've at one time been three stained glass panels made from pot metal and white glass with silver stain. They date to 1480 in France. Unfortunately, the center panel is missing, but according to the museum, likely would've featured the Virgin Mary or a crucified Christ. Based on their clothing and the fact that they're featured in the panels, it's safe to assume they commissioned these panels and would've been part of the French aristocratic elite.
The panels are each 156 x 43.5 x 1.5 cm (61 7/16 x 17 1/8 x 9/16 in.).
They were purchased by the Dudley P. Allen Fund 1919.1.
The image is in the Public Domain and can be seen on the museum's website.
