Personified Ritual Dagger (Vajrakila) in Ritual Embrace (Yab-yum) - 0153011e-6b04-bd86-8011-345095008dab
Made in Tibet and dating back to the 16th century, this ritual dagger is made of copper repoussé over wood. At the top of the dagger, Vajrakilaya, a wrathful deity, can be seen in yab-yum, which is the sexual embrace of a male deity and his consort. Upon closer inspection, the consorts upper body, head, and arms can be seen below Vajrakilaya's head. Its dimensions are 43.1 x 24.8 x 10.3 cm (17 x 9 3/4 x 4 1/16 in.).
