The Crocodile-Headed Female Buddhist Deity (Makaravaktra Dakini) is a gilt bronze state from Tibet. It was made between 1701-1800 and has overall dimensions of 8.4 x 4.6 x 3.6 cm (3 5/16 x 1 13/16 x 1 3/8 in.). This figure is believed to appear with Simhavaktra, the Lion-Headed deity, and a mule. The statue is a gift of Marilynn B. Alsdorf 2012.684 and is found in the Art Institute Chicago where it is not displayed.
