Nine-Dragon Falls 구룡포 (九龍布)-1915.215_print

This painting is called “Nine-Dragon Falls 구룡포 (九龍布)”, it is made by ink and color on paper in the late 1800s within Han Unpyeong (Korean), Korea, Joseon dynasty (1392-1910). The paintings’ dimensions are Overall: 71x40.7 cm (27 15/16x16in.); painting only: 59.4x28.2 cm (23 3/8x11 1/8 in.). This painting was a gift of the John Huntington Art and Polytechnic Trust 1915.215. It is unfortunately not on view in the Cleveland Museum of Art. The Nine-Dragon Falls is found in North Korea and is one of the most famous tourist sites found at the Diamond Mountain. The details in the painting are very unique and we can view two scholar tourists along with a Buddhist monk that are enjoying the beautiful waterfall as it rushes down.
